Why do people expect logo design to be cheap/inexpensive?

Why do people expect logo design to be cheap/inexpensive?

Because many logos look simple, and technically or even design wise speaking, they are indeed simple. And for most businesses, a logo can be something cheap and easy.

The owners of a local snack shop or kiosk might not be too fanatic about having a thought-out logo. To them, having a logo is like having an ATM connection, and a stapler on the counter, to attach receipts together. If it works, they're happy with it.

The CEO and key managers of a new company might be keen on getting an attractive and great logo, depicting what they stand for and being technically flexible enough to suit all their needs. They're in for a bit more professionalism.

So it depends...
