There's no best font.
There are criteria, like:
- Does the font have a lot of characters to spell foreign names properly, or be able to use symbols in more complex scientific texts ?
- Does the font family consist of many variations, so it's easier to differentiate a text's optical weight, density, and structure ?
- Is the font still legible under difficult circumstances, like on-screen renditions in a sunny environment, in small type on a mobile screen, in lesser contrasts when printed on rough paper stock ?
- Does the standard character set include certain ugly glyphs that you just can't stand ? (E.g. block serifs for a sans serif capital I, or a very odd-shaped g or Q ?
These are quite important criteria, before you start judging a font's cuteness.
