The ideal logo would be one bearing the name, depicting its key product, service, and/or idea, sporting an appealing, unique, and symbolic design.
I've searched for such an ideal example, but couldn't find a single one ! Only Amazon comes close. Many company names or trademarks just suck to begin with (not concise or nice-sounding), their markets and products are a moving target (extending the brand in all kinds of directions), and the design leaves much to wish for (not great in clarity, style, and technical applicability).
But still, there are many good logos. So probably there's something else that matters. Just Google best logos" and you'll find hundreds of examples.
